The Globe Fire department currently has one of three certified K9 teams in the state of Arizona. The Fire marshal & his partner K9 Frank, a 7 year old Lab & Chesapeake Bay mix. The K9 is certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association. The K9 is utilized in all arson fires where there is suspected use of accelerants. K9 Frank is trained to detect 17 different types of accelerants. The K9 Team is available to any agency within Gila County.
