The Window V.I.N. Etching program is part of the three layered approach along with the Watch Your Car Program and steering wheel lock to help you from becoming a victim of automobile theft. The Window V.I.N. Etching program is offered to the public free of charge from the Globe Police Department.
The way the Window V.I.N. Etching program works is your car’s V.I.N. (Vehicle Identification Number) is etched in approximately 10 pt. font into each major window of your vehicle. Due to the cost of replacing the windows this deters thieves who would steal your car to sell it.
