Councilman District 1 - James Haley

James P. Haley, II represents the interests of District 1 and the City of Globe.  He has lived in Globe for 20 years with his wife (Karen); together they have raised two daughters (Kristi and Sara) in a modest house that also served as Karen's childhood home on East Skyline Drive.  James continues to collaborate with other council members to support open and responsible local government.

James has dedicated his life to the community through public and private service.  He honorably served as an enlisted member of the US Army/US Army Reserve from 1983 to 1991; Gila County Attorney's Office Bad Check Program Coordinator/Collections Specialist from 1996 to 1999; general partner, A2Z PCs, L.L.C. from 1999 to 2000; Globe Police Department form 2000 to 2006; teacher, Holy Angels School 2006 to 2008; self-employed information technology consultant from 2008 to the present.

James has served as your elected representative on the Globe City Council from 2006 to 2008 and from 2012 to the present:  he currently serves as a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Globe Advisory Board; and as Director of Communications for the Gila District of the Boy Scouts of America.

James was conferred with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies form Eastern Arizona College; a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Cum Laude) from Northern Arizona University; and a Master of Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.

James is 2012 graduate of the Southern Gila County Leadership Academy, a leadership development program sponsored by the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation.  He is an advocate in support of maintaining a safe, clean, caring community that supports the needs of all of our residents, promotes local businesses, positive community oriented economic development, and respect for our historic character.
