Globe Public Library Card

In order to borrow materials, you must present a valid library card. All residents may apply for a library card upon meeting the following requirements.

  1. Age requirement: 18 years or older. Children under the age of 18 may apply for a card, but must be able to write their name and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents/Guardians are responsible for anything checked out by their children.
  2. Valid Photo ID, plus proof of current mailing address. If a P. O. Box is used as a mailing address, a location of residence is also necessary. (Proof of mailing address may be a utility bill, rent receipt, check/deposit slip, etc.)
  3. You must also supply the following information:
    1. Driver’s License
    2. Date of Birth
    3. Name & phone number of a local reference, other than someone living in your household.

THERE IS NO FEE FOR A LIBRARY CARD. There will is a replacement fee of $1.00 for lost cards.

Cardholding patrons may checkout  2 items the first time, and then up to 30 items at a time, provided they do not take everything on one subject or author. Patrons may check out 7 DVDs at a time.

Acceptable Internet Use Policy

The Internet enables the Globe Public Library to provide information not otherwise available within the limits of its own collections. The resources available on the Internet are significant while it offers access to a wealth of material that may be personally, professionally, and culturally enriching to individuals of all ages, it also enables access to some materials that may be offensive, disturbing to others, and some may be considered illegal.

Rules and procedures that result from the implementation of this policy must be obeyed. Staff members do have the right to interrupt or cancel the use of a computer. Violations of GPL Internet Policy may result in loss of computer and/or Internet privileges or GPL privileges.  GPL also reserves the right to monitor the use of its Internet services and to review any electronic data on the library's lines within the institution's guidelines concerning privacy and confidentiality.

While library staff is happy to assist users in accessing the Internet, each user is responsible for his or her own search. Staff cannot provide personal training in the use of the Internet or of personal computers.

Help support the Globe Public Library by...

Donating Books, Magazines, Videos, CD’s, DVDs, Puzzles, etc... The Globe Public Library welcomes your donations of materials in good condition. Some materials will be added to our collection, others will be sold in the Friends of Globe Public Library Bookstore, with all proceeds benefiting the Library. If requested, you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
