Al Gameros is a lifetime resident of the Globe-Miami community, born and raised in Miami, Arizona.  He dedicated nearly three decades of public service through the Globe Fire Department, retiring in 2016 after 29.5 years of service – 18 of those as Fire Chief.

Throughout his career, Al has prioritized emergency planning and preparedness, building a strong foundation in leadership, public administration, and professional service.  His extensive experience is complemented by decades of involvement in various professional committees both locally and statewide.

As Mayor of Globe, Al brings a creative and solutions-oriented approach to city leadership.  He is deeply committed to addressing challenges through innovation and collaboration, always with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for residents.  His belief in regional cooperation, especially in emergency response, ensures a unified, effective strategy for safety and problem solving across the Globe-Miami community.

Mayor Gameros continues to champion community focused initiatives and work tirelessly to move Globe forward through strong partnerships, vision, and experienced leadership.

He currently serves as the Chairman of Central Arizona Government for Pinal and Gila County, Executive Board member of the Arizona League of Cities, Board Member of the Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool, Board member of the Arizona Rural Economic Advisory Board, and Executive Board member of the Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation.
