License Fees:
The fee for a new Business Registration License is $50 and expires December 31st of each year. The initial annual fee will be prorated quarterly, depending on the business start date during the calendar year.
January 1 - March 31: 100% of annual registration fee
April 1 - June 30: 75% of annual registration fee
July 1 - September 30: 50% of annual registration fee
October 1 - December 31: 25% of annual registration fee
Specialty Licenses: Please refer to the City of Globe License Fee schedule. Prorated fees do not apply to specialty or professional licenses.
A City of Globe Business License cannot be transferred to another person or business, and a new Business License Application is required to be submitted, any changes related to the business activity, address, use, or ownership are also required to submit a new Business License Application within 30-days of any changes.
Renewals:
Notices are mailed or emailed to the business 30 days prior to expiration and must be renewed within 30-days after the expiration date to avoid a late penalty.
Business owners are responsible for renewing their license. Failure to receive a renewal notice does not relieve the business of their responsibility to renew their license.

Certificate of Occupancy (C of O):
A certificate of occupancy life safety inspections are required from both the City of Globe Building Safety Department and Fire Department. A certificate of occupancy is required to protect both the occupants and consumers entering the premises.
A building or structure shall not be used, occupied or furnished in whole or in part, and a change of occupancy of a building or structure or portion thereof shall not be made, until the building official has issued a certificate of occupancy therefor as provided herein. All changes in use, occupancy, ownership or occupant of a building or structure will require a field inspection to determine the level of hazard required prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy (Fees apply).
Signs:
The City of Globe requires permits and HPAC review (When applies) for signs to include window decals. Sign regulations protect property values; provide an improved visual environment for citizens and visitors; promote and aid the tourist industry; protect the general public from damage and injury which may be caused by faulty and uncontrolled construction of signs; protect motorists and pedestrians from possible injury caused by the distractions or obstruction on improperly situated signs; and promote the public safety, welfare, convenience, and enjoyment of travel and the free flow of traffic within the City of Globe.
Historic Preservation Architectural Committee (HPAC):
For any businesses located in the historic preservation district any new exterior paint colors or exterior signs or renovations require HPAC review and approval. Why Have HPAC Design Guidelines?
These design guidelines promote preservation of historic, cultural and architectural heritage within Globe. They seek to maintain Globe as a cohesive, livable place and avoid the inappropriate alteration or demolition of historic properties. Maintaining historic fabric and the context is a fundamental concept found to promote the city’s unique identity, create visual interest, and enhance the overall character of the downtown.
