School Resource Officer SRO

The United States Department of Justice defines school resource officer (SRO) is a “sworn law enforcement officer responsible for safety and crime prevention in schools.” The SRO works closely with administrators to create a safer environment for both students and staff. The responsibilities of the SRO are similar to GPD’S regular police officers.  The SRO has the authority to make arrests, respond to calls for service, and document incidents. The SRO has additional duties, including mentoring and conducting presentations on youth-related issues.

Our Mission
To provide security and confidence within the community through a dedicated commitment to service, integrity and professionalism.
