Planning a Special Event?
City of Globe - Special Event Notification and Application Policy
Purpose:
The City of Globe encourages the hosting of events that enhance community life, celebrate our heritage, and foster economic vitality. To ensure public safety, coordinate city resources, and minimize disruptions, this policy establishes when a Special Event Application must be submitted for City review and approval.
Applicability:
A Special Event Application is required under the following circumstances:
1. When City Services Are Requested:
Events that require any of the following City resources must submit an application:
• Street closures, sidewalk closures, or use of public rights-of-way
• Traffic control, security, or public safety support from Police or Fire Departments
• Temporary provision of trash collection or additional bins
• Access to City utilities, such as water
• Reserved use of City parks, facilities, or public spaces beyond standard reservation procedures
• Temporary signage placement on public property
2. When Events Impact Public Safety:
Even without a request for City services, a Special Event Application is required if the event:
• Expects attendance of 100 or more people at any given time
• Includes alcohol service, sales, or distribution
• Features amplified sound, fireworks, or other pyrotechnics
• Involves temporary structures, including tents larger than 10x10 feet, stages, inflatables, or other assemblies
• Is likely to impact traffic flow, parking availability, or emergency vehicle access
Submission Timeline:
• Events requiring City services or public space closures:
Application due at least 30 days prior to the event date.
• Events for safety awareness only (no services requested):
Notification due at least 14 days prior to the event date.
Late applications may be subject to denial or may not receive the requested level of support.
How to Submit:
• Download the Special Event Application at www.globeaz.gov
• Or pick up an application at Globe City Hall, 150 N. Pine Street, Globe, AZ
Additional Notes:
• Events serving alcohol may require separate approval from the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
• Events involving food sales may require coordination with the Gila County Health Department.
• The City reserves the right to require additional documentation, including insurance certificates, security plans, or site layouts, depending on the nature of the event.
The City of Globe thanks you for your cooperation in making our community events safe, welcoming, and successful for all!
