Public Notice: Respect Our Community Spaces

The City of Globe is asking for the public’s help in taking care of shared spaces, including public restrooms.
The restrooms at Globe Community Center Park, one of our recently remodeled facilities, are experiencing ongoing vandalism and damage.

City staff are working hard to maintain these spaces, but the level and frequency of destruction are difficult to keep up with.
This impacts everyone who uses the park and limits our ability to keep facilities open, clean, and safe.

Please treat public spaces with respect. If you witness vandalism or suspicious activity, please dial 911 and report it to local authorities.
Let’s take care of what we’ve built; together.

Pinal Creek Flood Mitigation Moving Forward
Progress is underway.

Tiffany Construction has begun pre-staging equipment and materials in preparation for sediment removal along Pinal Creek as part of the City of Globe’s project with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS.)

This grant funded flood mitigation project with a defined 220-day timeline, focuses on reducing sediment buildup, improving flow capacity, and helping protect nearby homes, infrastructure, and businesses.
Pre-staging allows crews to move quickly and efficiently as work ramps up in the coming weeks.

This is an important step forward in strengthening our community’s resilience and preparing ahead of future weather events.
We’ll continue to share updates as progress continues.

US 60 pavement rehabilitation project in Globe restarts April 19
Expect nighttime lane restrictions and reduced speed limit

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers traveling in Globe to plan for the following lane restrictions on US 60, between Santee Street and US 70 (mileposts 250-252), as work restarts on the pavement rehabilitation project:

East- and westbound lane restrictions nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, April 19, through Friday, May 1.
The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph in the work zone.
The restrictions are needed for milling and paving work.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

For more information and to sign up for email alerts, please visit https://azdot.gov/us60-santee-us70-paving.
