Prescott, AZ – Mayor Al Gameros with The City of Globe took the stage this week at the 25th Annual Arizona Transportation Summit, presenting its ambitious Yuma Bridge Replacement Project. The project is among twelve statewide initiatives being considered for funding in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget. Globe is seeking $3.8 million in state appropriations to make the much-needed improvements a reality.

Originally constructed in 1939, the Yuma Bridge has endured decades of wear and tear, with visible signs of deterioration raising concerns about its long-term safety and reliability.

“This project is part of our ongoing commitment to addressing aging infrastructure in Globe,” said Mayor Gameros at the summit. “Investing in sustainable infrastructure is essential as we continue building a resilient economic future for our community.”

The City of Globe’s proposal reflects a broader effort to modernize critical infrastructure, ensuring public safety while supporting economic growth for years to come.
