Globe City Council welcomes your feedback on proposed changes to Chapter 8 of the City Code. Share your comments with City Council at council@globeaz.gov.
Under the proposed revision, each business location would require its own license. Warehouses and storage spaces used in connection with a business would not need a separate license.

The City of Globe would like to inform the community that the 2026 Festival of Lights at Besh Ba Gowah will not be held this year due to maintenance work at the site.
We understand how much this annual tradition means to our community and appreciate your understanding.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for next year’s Festival of Lights at Besh Ba Gowah.

Renewing a Globe business license could become a simpler process under a proposed Chapter 8 revision.
If your license hasn't expired or has been expired for less than 30 days, you would be able to renew without filling out a new application. You would just need to confirm that nothing has changed on your original application and pay the license fee.
The City is interested in hearing from local business owners. Send your comments or suggestions to City Council at council@globeaz.gov.

A proposed update to Globe's special event application process could mean less paperwork. 📄🤏
Under this revision, applicants would no longer need to attach a copy of their Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) documentation. All other application requirements would remain the same.
Questions or comments about the proposal can be sent to City Council at council@globeaz.gov.

Globe City Council members are working on revisions to Chapter 8 of the City Code, which covers business license regulations. We want your feedback, share your thoughts by emailing council@globeaz.gov.
One proposed change would add these four exemptions to the City's business license requirements:
🚚 Out-of-town businesses without a physical storefront in Globe
🏡 Home occupations as defined in Section 14-6-11
✂️ Individuals renting a chair or space in a beauty or nail salon
🛍️ Small vendors selling exclusively from booths at events or temporary spaces

At last night’s Council Meeting, proposed updates to Chapter 8 of the City Code kicked off an important conversation about creating a more business-friendly Globe.
🌟 What's being considered?
✅ Fewer license requirements: New exemptions for certain home-based businesses, event vendors, salon chair renters, and out-of-town businesses.
✅ Simpler fees: Exploring a flat business license fee instead of the current scaled system.
✅ Easier renewals: Less paperwork for qualifying businesses. No changes? No drama!
✅ Streamlined special events: Clearer requirements and simpler processes for event organizers and vendors.
📌 IMPORTANT: These are proposals, NOT final decisions! No Chapter 8 changes have been adopted. A $135 flat fee was discussed as an example, but no fee amount has been approved. Applicable state, county, and other safety regulations would still apply.
💬 THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!
We know our local business owners and vendors have valuable experiences and ideas to share. Your feedback will help shape a process that's simpler, clearer, and more welcoming to businesses of all sizes.
