Broad Street, downtown Globe, will remain closed from Mesquite Street to the Highway (Ash Street) until Sunday evening.
This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of businesses, and crews working in the area following the recent flooding. Please use alternate routes and avoid the closure zone.

The City of Globe is waiving permit fees at this time to support businesses and residents affected by the flooding.
✅ Work that does not require a permit:
- Drywall replacement & stripping
- Minor electrical work (switches, outlets, etc.)
- Gas connections

For electrical reconnections contact APS directly

Broad Street is open from Bailey to the South.
The section between Bailey and Mesquite remains closed.
Businesses may open, if safe and dry, but many do not have available public parking at this moment.
- Parking may take place South of Mesquite Street.

As many of you know, First Friday was born during a time of deep community need, the pandemic, as a way to lift one another up and stay connected. Today, we face another moment of need. This time, we must pause the event so we can come together in a different way: by focusing fully on recovery, healing, and supporting those directly impacted.
With this in mind, October’s First Friday is cancelled.
We are exploring ways to reschedule the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and Globe Fire Department Open House and will share updates as soon as we are able.
In the meantime, let’s continue checking in on one another, lending a hand where it’s needed, and remembering what makes Globe so special: when times are toughest, we rise together. 🌅

MANAGEMENT TEAM SUPPORTING GLOBE FLOODING SEARCH AND RESCUE Globe, AZ
(9/28/2025) - The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management's (DFFM) Incident Management Team (IMT) assumes operational duties of search and rescue efforts and debris removal to assist both Globe and Gila County. On Saturday, the City of Globe and Gila County signed a Delegation of Authority which allows DFFM's IMT to manage operations between all partners, including city, county, state, and local cooperator resources.
DFFM's internal IMT took command of the operations Saturday evening with more than 150 people supporting the team and field work. Yesterday, search and rescue crews with the assistance of cadaver dogs, worked throughout Pinal Creek drainage conducting a primary search for any unaccounted and unreported missing people. Today, a secondary search will be conducted in the same area to be sure no vehicles or areas were overlooked. In addition, today, resources will resume work to remove hundreds of propane tanks that washed across the highway into Globe and Wheatfields due to the storm and heavy flooding.
To provide for efficient and effective operations, the IMT divided management of the operations into three sections, including the Law Enforcement, Fire, and Heavy Equipment branches. The Law Enforcement Branch consists of six Search and Rescue (SAR) teams from across the state, including Maricopa, Graham, and Pima Counties, along with Tonto Rim Search and Rescue. Over the last 24 hours, those SAR teams have been working within creeks checking vehicles, sifting through debris piles, and clearing areas with cadaver dogs. The Fire Branch includes two DFFM wildland fire hand crews and a US Forest Service hotshot crew. Crews are using chainsaws to cut debris within the creek crossings to alleviate the buildup and give SAR resources better access to conduct their searches. The Heavy Equipment Branch, including backhoes, skid steers, and excavators are clearing mud and debris off the roads and removing the debris being cut by saw teams.
"These large-scale operations can be logistically challenging and they can strain resources very fast. The local first responders have been working around the clock since this catastrophic storm moved through the area on Friday. By allowing an Incident Management Team to take over operations, we can take the workload off of the locals, give them some relief, and an opportunity to get some rest," said Department of Forestry and Fire Management Incident Commander, John Truett.
In addition to the SARs, the local first responders and law enforcement, other agencies assisting DFFM's efforts, include Arizona Game and Fish Department, the Department of Public Safety, and Arizona Department of Transportation.

If you would like to request an Emergency Site Evaluation on a commercial property/building please call and schedule a site evaluation.
Your cooperation helps us ensure properties are assessed quickly and hazards are addressed as safely as possible.
The City is conducting emergency site evaluations of the commercial corridor. These site visits are utilized to document the extent of damage a structure sustained, to help determine the structural damage to a structure.
For further interior inspections, and evaluations please reach out to your insurance carrier or an environmental clean-up agency to assist.

A designated debris drop-off location has also been established at the dirt lot below the Fields/Skate Park.
⚠️ Please note: Mud should not be placed in roll-off containers. These containers are intended for flood debris, damaged materials, and general cleanup items.
The City of Globe asks residents to use these locations responsibly and to help keep areas safe and accessible for everyone working through the cleanup process.
Broad Street Reopening for Business Owners at Noon
Broad Street will reopen today at 12:00 PM (noon) for business owners only.
This limited reopening is intended to allow business owners access to their properties for assessment and essential needs following the recent flooding event. Public access to Broad Street remains restricted at this time to ensure safety while cleanup and emergency operations continue.
⚠️ Clean up and removal efforts on Broad Street will still be taking place. We are requesting that business owners park above Mesquite Street. Please plan accordingly and use caution when entering the area. For business clean-up you may bring in equipment and vehicles necessary.
We urge business owners to use extreme caution as conditions may remain hazardous. Crews are still working throughout the area, and debris, unstable structures, and additional rainfall may present risks.
The City of Globe appreciates the patience and cooperation of our community as we work to restore services and support recovery. Further updates on public access to Broad Street will be shared as soon as they become available.

A Message From Mayor Gameros:
Globe City Council had a special meeting this afternoon at noon to approve and sign the City of Globe Emergency Proclamation. Simultaneously the county signed their emergency proclamation. The Governor Hobbs has now also signed an Emergency declaration for the Globe Miami area to authorize funding.
We have been a direct contact with Governor Hobbs, Senator Mark Kelly, Senator Ruben Gallego, Congressman Andy Biggs and Congressman Eli Crane, who will also be involved with working with their teams to expedite funding to our city.
We want to assure the business community and all our residents that our Council is doing everything possible to expedite funding and identify funding opportunities for the business community to begin the assessment process of their buildings so we can move forward with rebuilding.
We continue to receive resources from all over the state to assist us during this emergency event. A Type 3 Incident Command Team is in transition to take over the incident.
All search and rescue operations were temporarily halted this afternoon due to the rain and the safety of our first responders.
Work continues downtown to stabilize the area so that we are able to allow the owners of the businesses to enter the downtown area.
As soon as the Type Three Incident Management takes over complete control of the incident, information will be shared about a location to accept donations of supplies. We will continue to update you as things evolve.
As thunder rumbles above, and rain is beginning to fall again, we are reminding the public to shelter in place and stay out of affected areas. The ground is fully saturated, making flash flooding more likely.
⚠️ Please take these precautions:
• Move to higher ground.
• Never cross running water on foot or by vehicle. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep you away.
• Avoid low-lying areas, washes, and roadways that may flood quickly.

All search and rescue operations have been paused, and all first response crews have been pulled from low-lying areas due to the heightened risk of flooding.
⚠️ Conditions remain extremely dangerous. Please shelter in place, stay away from affected areas, and do NOT enter washes, creeks, or flooded roadways.
