FLOOD WATCH | BE WEATHER AWARE
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Globe-Miami area from 4:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, through 6:00 AM Thursday, August 13.
Abundant moisture and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall, creating the potential for flooding in creeks, washes, low-lying areas and other flood-prone locations.
🌧️ Please take time now to prepare:
• Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts.
• Avoid creeks, washes and low-water crossings during heavy rainfall.
• Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Secure outdoor items and prepare your property before storms arrive.
• If you live or work in a flood-prone area, be prepared to move to higher ground if conditions worsen.
• Do not enter closed or barricaded roads or areas.
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean flooding is currently occurring. A flood watch means you should be prepared to act quickly if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
Please continue to monitor local weather conditions and official updates throughout the evening.
Stay weather aware. Flood Watch = Be Prepared

At Tuesday's Special City Council Meeting, Council approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the laying of Riprap as part of the Pinal Creek Bank Stabilization Efforts. Tiffany Construction will begin this work as early as today.
At the July 14th meeting Council approved holding a Special Meeting on July 21st at noon in order to allow Tiffany to immediately transfer from sediment removal to bank stabilization. The City is facing a September 11th NRCS deadline to complete the work in the creek. This Special Meeting helped to keep the project within the deadline.
Council also approved ingress/egress and permanent public drainage easements for properties where ongoing bank stabilization is needed. Staff will begin reaching out to affected property owners for this, today.
Community Questions:
Does an ingress/egress or permanent public drainage easements mean the City owns my property?
No.
An easement does not transfer ownership. The property remains privately owned. The easement simply allows the City to access and maintain the drainage improvements in the future.

Essential City services, including Police, Fire, and Public Works, remain operational and continue to be on call to respond to storm-related conditions.
Please continue to avoid flooded roadways, follow posted signs and directions from emergency personnel, and never drive through flowing water.
