Due to the ongoing flood recovery efforts, we have made the decision to postpone the State of The City Address at this time that was scheduled for this Thursday, October 9th. Our priority remains focused on supporting our residents and businesses as we continue working through this recovery process. A new date will be announced once the situation has stabilized, and more immediate needs have been addressed.
To all our community residents, please be aware of the potential for significant rainfall later this week as the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla approach. Rain chances are expected to begin increasing Thursday, with the heaviest rainfall likely Friday through the weekend.
You can stay informed by:

For residents in need of sandbags, they will be available at the following locations:
• City Public Works Yard - 150 S. Hagen Rd.
• Downtown by the Teepee near the Globe Public Library - 339 S. Broad St.
• Gila County is also providing sandbags at their public works location at 745 Rose Mofford Way and Dixon Rocks & Materials at 1990 E Ash St. also has sandbags available.
Let us continue our prayers for our community that Mother Nature spares us from a repeat of the devastating rain we experienced last week.
To support the ongoing recovery process for our local businesses and residents, initial property evaluations are currently underway.
As part of this process, official notices will be posted on homes and businesses to indicate the safety status of each structure.
• A green indicates safe to enter and proceed with work.
• A yellow tag indicates some safety concerns are present-proceed with caution.
• A red tag indicates do not enter due to structural hazards.
These initial assessments are a critical step in ensuring the safety of all residents, workers, and visitors as recovery efforts continue. In addition, the City of Globe will be bringing in an outside technical assessment team, structural engineer, and a Fire Marshal for further assessment and evaluation of commercial buildings.
Business owners also have the option to hire their own independent engineers if they wish to obtain a second opinion or additional guidance. Our goal is to ensure that any buildings that are structurally safe can move forward with recovery efforts as quickly and safely as possible.
A decision has been made to keep the north end of Broad Street closed through this Sunday, October 12 to allow for ongoing business cleanup efforts and to maintain the security of private property.
Please note that some businesses within the restricted area are now open, with parking available outside of the closure. We encourage residents and visitors to support them as we continue recovery efforts. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to restore our community.
We continue to strongly encourage cash donations to the United Fund of Globe-Miami. This grant relief program has been created in partnership with Salvation Army; for coordination of the residential relief efforts, and with Local First Arizona, who will be coordinating the Business Flood Relief grant for affected local businesses. The Salvation Army is now actively taking applications for the Residential Flood Relief Grant.
All funding donated will go directly to local businesses and residents in Globe-Miami, through United Fund of Globe-Miami so it follows the proper channel for distribution.
You can contribute in several ways:
Zelle or PayPal: Send donations to the United Fund of Globe-Miami
In Person – Donate directly at First Interstate Bank

Your support, big or small, makes a difference. Let’s continue to lift each other up and help our community recover and rebuild stronger than ever. Updates will be posted when this program goes live.
We also encourage supporting those businesses that have set up their own personal GoFundMe accounts that have been created to help them reopen their doors again.
May God continue to bless and protect our community.
We know how important sandbags are for protecting homes and businesses, and City crews have been working hard to keep supply available.
At this time, all sandbags at the Public Works Yard and the Teepee location have been picked up, and we are temporarily out. 🚫
🚚 More sandbags are already inbound and will be made available soon. This post will be updated as soon as they arrive. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to support the community’s flood preparedness.

The City of Globe has arranged for a third-party engineering group to conduct assessments of commercial buildings damaged by the recent flood.
• When: Wednesday and Thursday of this week
• Where: Commercial buildings within the flood path
• What to Expect: Engineers will begin site visits early Wednesday morning and continue through Thursday evening.
We ask that property owners or representatives please have someone on site during this time to assist with access and information.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure safety and recovery.
This decision was made out of caution following the recent flooding and with additional rain in the forecast. The safety of our residents remains our highest priority, and we ask everyone to stay out of low-lying areas at this time to remain safe.
A new date for the State of the City Address will be announced when available.

🚨 Public Safety Reminder:
Due to ongoing environmental assessments following recent flooding, the public is asked to stay out of Pinal Creek until all testing and cleanup are complete and the area is confirmed safe.
Entering the creek at this time poses risks to both personal safety and health.
We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we work together to ensure the health and safety of all residents.

If your vehicle was impacted by flooding, please use extreme caution before starting or running it. Check carefully for any flood debris lodged under the vehicle or near the engine and transmission.
The Globe Fire Department has already responded to two separate vehicle fires caused by flood debris igniting from heat under vehicles.
Please inspect first to protect yourself and others.
