🚧 Public Safety Notice: Creek Work Underway in Globe 🚧

Creek restoration and sediment removal work has begun within the City of Globe. Residents and motorists should expect to see an increase in large hauling trucks, heavy equipment, and construction activity throughout the community over the coming weeks.

Please use extra caution when traveling, especially in the areas of:
• Jesse Hayes Road / Oil Circle Drive

For everyone's safety, please slow down, stay alert, allow extra stopping distance, and be mindful of workers and equipment entering and exiting roadways.

We appreciate your patience as this important work moves forward to help reduce flood risks and improve our waterways. Thank you for helping keep our community and work crews safe.

The City of Globe would like to apologize for the recent banner program letters distributed in partnership with Community Showcase Banners. This program was originally initiated prior to the September flood event as a way to celebrate our community and, later, to support business visibility in Historic Downtown Globe while highlighting the resilience of our region. While those intentions were positive, we recognize that we did not adequately consider the program’s cost given the ongoing challenges many residents and businesses continue to face. After listening to community feedback, it became clear that this program was not the right fit for Globe at this time. As a result, the City has canceled its agreement with Community Showcase Banners, and the program will not move forward. While the City had planned to explore having the banners produced locally in an effort to support local businesses while also providing an additional location for business marketing, the program did not advance far enough for those discussions or arrangements to take place. We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their concerns. Community feedback matters, and it helps ensure that our decisions remain aligned with the needs and priorities of the people we serve. We regret the frustration and disappointment this program caused and sincerely apologize for the oversight. Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to engage with us as we work to move our community forward.

Before you leave, please take a moment to pick up your trash and dispose of it properly. Clean parks are one of ways we can show pride in our community and respect for our neighbors. ❤️

The City of Globe is sincerely grateful to all property owners and residents who participated in the Right of Entry (ROE) process, allowing crews to evaluate creek conditions and move this important recovery work forward.

Following completion of the engineering analysis, the City is getting ready to begin sediment removal operations within Globe city limits.
As part of this next phase, some property owners (not all) will be contacted by City staff regarding Temporary Construction Easements (TCEs). Staff will begin calling and/or visiting affected property owners starting Friday, May 22.

A Temporary Construction Easement (TCE) is a temporary legal agreement that allows the City and its contractors limited access to specific portions of private property for flood recovery and creek restoration work.

These easements may be needed for:
• Sediment removal
• Creek restoration activities
• Equipment and construction access
• Temporary staging related to recovery operations

Important to know:
• TCEs are temporary
• Property ownership does not change
• Easements are limited in scope, location, and duration
• Full property rights remain with the owner once work is complete

We appreciate the community’s continued cooperation and support as this critical recovery work moves into the next phase, and we race to beat the upcoming monsoon season.

It's not glamorous work, but it's essential. And we've got some of the best people doing it.

Join us in congratulating them!

Thank you all for going above and beyond. You make this city better every day. 🙌
