Waste Connections of AZ - Holiday Schedule! 🗑️🎄

WCofAZ observes four (4) Holidays throughout the year and will NOT be providing collection service on these Holidays.

If your service day falls on a "no service" holiday, listed below, then you will receive service the following day. The rest of the week following the holiday is also pushed back one day, with Friday’s customers being serviced on Saturday.

Christmas: No service Thursday, December 25th
New Year Day: No Service Thursday, January 1st

Holidays such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day and Veterans Day are not affected. Please set your bins out on regular day of service.

Scholz Contracting will be working to complete watermain repairs on US Highway 60, near 1690 East Ash Street, just west of the US 60/70 split, between the hours of 7am and 5pm starting Monday, December 15th to Friday, December 19, 2025.

Expect possible lane restrictions in the East bound lanes.

Please obey all signs and personnel while traveling in the area. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please Note: Scholz Contracting is an authorized subcontractor for the City of Globe performing asphalt repair within the City of Globe. All inquiries, questions, request or complaints regarding any City subcontractors should be directed to the city.

This action is being taken after World War II-era hand grenades were turned in to the Globe Police Department. Public Safety Notice - Work Activity Near 410 N. Broad St.

Work will take place starting Thursday morning in the area of the 410 Building on North Broad Street to address and mitigate immediate hazards in this area - allowing the reopening of the Southbound Lane of Broad Street. Crews will be active in the surrounding areas, including on Broad Street and will be using the Public Parking Lot off of Bailey Street as a staging area.

Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow any posted signage or direction from work crews.

Join University of Arizona Climate Extension Specialist Dr. Mike Crimmins to learn about the meteorologic conditions and rain events that led to the catastrophic flooding in Globe-Miami in 2025.
The presentation will include focus on the unique storm dynamics that produced record rainfall, as well as the broader climate context shaping extremes in the desert Southwest.

Mike Crimmins is on the faculty of the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Arizona and is an Extension Specialist in Climate Science for Arizona Cooperative Extension. He has been in this role since 2005 working with ranchers, farmers and natural resource managers across Arizona to integrate climate information in their planning and decision making and assisting them in developing strategies to adapt to a changing climate. Our Globe Fire Department continued their commitment to keeping our community safe by practicing bailout techniques; critical skills for exiting dangerous or rapidly changing environments.

This hands-on training covered both self-extrication and assisted extrication/rescue, ensuring our firefighters are ready for any scenario they may face. Their dedication to staying sharp, learning continuously, and putting in the hard work is one of the many reasons our community is in good hands.
