From Arizona Department of Transportation:
Plan for daytime lane restrictions on US 60 west of Miami March 10-13.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on US 60, approximately 3 miles west of Miami, for roadway improvements:
US 60 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction with alternating east- and westbound travel between mileposts 240 and 243 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, March 10, through Thursday, March 13.
* Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
* An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place until further notice.
* The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph in the work zone.
Important note: Lane restrictions and flagging operations for this project will be implemented on an as needed basis instead of daily as previously communicated. Alerts will be sent out in advance as restrictions are planned. Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
Motorists should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
This work is separate from the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges Replacement Project east of Superior.

🚨🌧️❄️ Important Announcement: March First Friday Event Cancelled ❄️🌧️🚨
Unfortunately, due to the forecasted severe weather — with an 80% chance of rain and snow, along with winds up to 20mph — we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the March First Friday event. 😔 We would not want to risk anyone being at an event in these conditions.
We want to extend a heartfelt 💕 thank you to the amazing businesses who offered to host a vendor and help keep the event alive… While we explored every possibility, we were unable to secure enough space to make the event viable this time.
We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you next month! April is the AZ Poppy Fest Pop-Off! 🧡🌼
Stay safe and warm, and we'll see you soon! 🌟

Phoenix Water Solutions will be changing all water meters on the City of Globe water system. Crews will begin the changeouts on Monday, December 9, 2024, and will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Please be aware that a service tech from Phoenix Water Solutions or the City of Globe will leave notice of a time frame within which your area will be worked. Prior to digging, an attempt will be made to contact the resident.
The installation and identification process will take approximately one (1) year to complete.
If your service line contains lead-based material, you will be notified within 30 days of identification.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any questions, please call Vincent Mariscal at (928) 200-3480.

Detour in place during closures from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following restrictions for blasting operations as part of a bridge replacement project:

“Besh Ba Gowah Free Admission Day,” including “Old Time Religion? The Salado Phenomenon in the US Southwest” presentation sponsored by the City of Globe and Old Pueblo Archaeology Center (Tucson) at Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park and Museum, 1324 S. Jesse Hayes Rd., Globe, Arizona
9 am-4:30 pm; food vendors 11 am-3 pm; presentation 1-2:30 pm. Free Admission.
A reconstructed portion of the Besh Ba Gowah pueblo
(https://www.globeaz.gov/page/besh-ba-gowah-museum)
The Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park and Museum will host a Free Public Admission Day in celebration of Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month. Visitors may enjoy self-guided tours of the Park and Museum at no cost. Food vendors will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and archaeologist Allen Dart (Old Pueblo Archaeology Center) will present “Old-Time Religion? The Salado Phenomenon in the US Southwest” at 1 p.m.
Presentation description: The Besh Ba Gowah archaeological site preserved by the City of Globe is a prime example of what archaeologists call the “Salado phenomenon.” When first recognized by archaeologists in the early twentieth century, a constellation of peculiar cultural traits – including polychrome (three-colored) pottery, above-ground housing often enclosed in walled compounds, and monumental architecture – at Besh Ba Gowah and some other southwestern US archaeological sites was thought to be indicative of a distinct group of people: “the Salado.” As more and more research was done and the widespread distribution of Salado material culture became apparent, interpretations of what the Salado phenomenon represents were debated. In this presentation, archaeologist Allen Dart illustrates pottery and other cultural attributes of the so-called Salado culture, reviews some of the theories about the Salado, and discusses how Salado related to the Ancestral Pueblo, Mogollon, Hohokam, and Casas Grandes cultures of the "Greater Southwest" (the U.S. Southwest and Mexico's Northwest).

From Arizona Department of Transportation: US 60 between Superior and Miami to be closed until Friday
Closure needed to safely remove unstable rock following blasting
US 60 detour map
Drivers should plan for an extended closure of US 60 between Superior and Miami as the Arizona Department of Transportation works to safely remove unstable rock that was exposed during blasting operations on Tuesday.
While the highway had been scheduled to reopen at 2 p.m. Tuesday, ADOT crews estimate a multi-day operation is required to remove rock before the highway can safely be reopened to the traveling public. ADOT’s initial estimates are that the work will continue into Friday.
The blasting operations are part of a project to replace the Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges on US 60 east of Superior.
Until the highway can be reopened, a detour will remain in place on state routes 77 and 177 through Winkelman. The roughly 68-mile detour between Superior and Globe takes about an hour and includes a 10 percent grade.
US 60 between Miami and Magma Mine Road, near milepost 231, will remain open for local traffic only.
For more information on this project and to sign up for email alerts, please visit azdot.gov/US60QueenCreekBridgeProject.
Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, the az511 app (download for Apple or Android devices) or by calling 511.
