✋ The Globe High Five
Here are five wins worth celebrating this week:
1️⃣ A Message of Resilience & Forward Momentum
At this year’s State of the City, Mayor Al Gameros reflected on where we’ve been, and where we’re going:
“The story of this City is defined by resilience, by results, and by the people who continue to believe in a better future.”
2️⃣ Representing Globe on a Regional Stage
Library Director, Rayel, was selected as an Arizona representative for the IMLS 250 Regional Convening. One of just 150 participants across multiple states.
3️⃣ Bike Rodeo Success 🚲
Globe Police Department helped host the annual Bike Rodeo at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center's Health Fair, donating 33 bikes and around 150 helmets to local kids.
4️⃣ Welcoming the Next Generation 🚒
Fire Department crews supported Copper Rim’s Kindergarten Round-Up, helping welcome future students and families.
Additionally Captain Gatewood, Captain Hicklin, and Firefighter Sotello attended FDIC in Indianapolis. This conference is one of the largest fire service conferences in the world-bringing back training, leadership insight, and the latest in fire service technology.
5️⃣ Community Clean-Up Impact 🌎
Through Globe Clean & Beautiful Spring Cleaning Days:
• 477 tires removed
• 98+ tons of waste cleared
• 10,000+ lbs of metal recycled by a resident
✨ Resilience, results, AND community. This week, Globe showed all three.
