Responsibilities

The AAC specifically works to:

• Advise city council on ways to support and increase art in the community (e.g., acquiring funding, recommending policy for initiating and acquiring art that complies with federal/state laws, facilitating approvals/permits, suggesting arts maintenance plans)
• Create and maintain an environment conducive to the arts (e.g., facilitate creativity for all residents, inform the public about arts developments, invite local participation by sharing what opportunities are available in the community, support collaboration across all local arts groups and artists)
• Promote the importance and value of arts experiences for all local residents
• Support arts opportunities that increase local economic vitality and invite tourism
