Encouraged by multiple generations of professional artists and musicians in my family, I enjoy traditional art forms like photography, writing, interior design, and music; however, I love atypical art forms like creating social infrastructure (e.g., libraries, parks, camps, streetscape, and public gathering places), designing games, and organizing large events that build community. I see the AAC as a tool for advancing creativity, visual and performing art, and community-building in Globe and hope my training in psychology and public administration will help launch the nascent commission into decades of successful leadership in acquiring, supporting, and promoting local art. “In 50 years, I envision Globe-Miami to be a shining talisman of color, verve, and vitality not just in Arizona, but across the United States. Globe has always been a community of mining innovation and political leadership. Imagine if that same energy is directed toward artistic expression and placemaking. We’ll be unstoppable.”
